Die Lichtplanung &#8211; lange Zeit als pragmatischer Teil der Bauplanung und rein technische Dom&#228;ne verstanden &#8211; entwickelte sich in den letzten Jahren immer st&#228;rker zu einer eigenen Disziplin. Dieser Entwicklung wird das Buch in doppelter Weise gerecht, indem es die pragmatisch-technische Dimension mit einer k&#252;nstlerischen Perspektive verbindet, in deren Zentrum die Frage steht, welche Rolle nat&#252;rliches und artifizielles Licht bei der Wahrnehmung von unterschiedlichsten (Stadt-) Landschaften spielt. Im ersten Teil des Buches werden die M&#246;glichkeiten, eine n&#228;chtliche Landschaft zu kreieren, nach einer typologischen Ordnung aufgezeigt (K&#252;sten-, Flussufer-, Seeufer-, Berg-, Wald-, Sumpflandschaft, aber auch die &#171;Landschaft&#187; einer Mine, eines Steinbruchs oder eine Industrielandschaft) und nach unterschiedlichen Illuminationskonzepten analysiert. Der Leser wird so an eine Lekt&#252;re der (beleuchteten) Landschaft herangef&#252;hrt. Im zweiten Teil werden 21 internationale Beispiele f&#252;r diese L&#246;sungskonzepte &#8211; geordnet nach der obengenannten Typologie &#8211; aus Deutschland, der Schweiz, Frankreich, Gro&#223;britannien, den Niederlanden, Island, Japan, Malaysia und Singapur ausf&#252;hrlich dokumentiert.

lighting design, long regarded as a pragmatic and purely technical aspect of construction planning, has increasingly developed into a discipline of its own over the past years. This publication recognises recent developments by combining the technical sphere with an artistic perspective, centred on the question of the role of natural and artificial light in the perception of a variety of (urban) landscapes. The first section of the book describes techniques for creating nocturnal landscapes, analysing these according to typology (coastal, riverside, lakeside, mountain, forest, marsh, or quarry and industrial sceneries) and concept of illumination. We embark on a process of learning to read (illuminated) landscapes. The second section presents detailed documentation of 21 international case-studies arranged according to type and drawn, for example, from Great Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Japan and Singapore.
